When to go to Phuket?

What is the best period of the year for Phuket holidays?

The rainy season starts in May and finishes in October. Usually May, September and October are the rainiest months. June, July and August are very hot and humid with smaller rainfalls. Prices are much lower than from November to April. The best season to go is between December and February. November is a transitory period between rainy and cold season, March and April can be sometimes too hot. However prices are higher from December to February. Peak season is during Christmas and New Year. So generally speaking they are two options: mild climate and higher prices in winter or hot, sometimes really hard climate in summer but with lower prices. I recommend the first option. Prices are higher, but it is still cheaper than in most western countries. There will be a lot of tourists in Patong, Kata, Kamala and Rawai, but Puket is a big island. There are still long kilometers of wild beaches if you would be looking for solitude. On the other hand nightlife on Bangla Road is one of the most vibrant night pleasures on the Earth. This is a real paradise especially if you’re attracted by beautiful women. Rainfalls from December to March are lower than 50mm per month; the peak is in September/October – about 400mm per month. Temperatures are quite stable during all the year starting from 22 to 32 Celsius grade. The coolest and the hottest are months from January to May due to higher variation of temperatures. From May to November it is very humid, humidity reaches 80% and sometimes more. Sea temperature is almost invariable all the year, between 27 to 29 Celsius grades. On the large, flat beaches water temperatures can be higher than 30 easily. The best diving conditions are however between November and April, the water is more transparent.
